I think I just had a special moment.... [Nov. 17th, 2008|08:07 am]
The Daily Show & The Colbert Report Fangirling

Actor-turned-author Denis Leary fell in love with The Oprah Winfrey Show after he tuned in to prepare a scathing routine about the TV host.

Leary dedicated himself to watching the popular programme because he wanted to gather material to savage Oprah in his controversial book Why We Suck: A Feel-Good Guide to Staying Fat, Loud, Lazy and Stupid.

But he soon got addicted to the show - and now wants to make a version for men, starring himself and fellow comedian Jon Stewart.

Leary tells USA Today newspaper, "The Oprah thing completely turned around on me. As soon as I started doing the research, I got sucked into the vortex of Oprah. I started watching episodes and reading the magazine (Oprah's magazine O). There's no male Oprah."

Asked about filming a men's version of the show, he adds: "Guys would listen. It could be me and Jon Stewart. You do the joke news, you do the scores because Stewart's a complete sports junkie."

Oh for the love of god please do this...

I have so much love for this clip. Sherman Alexie is one of my favorite authors and humans, if you haven't read any of his books I heartily recommend doing it. "True Diary" is a great book but will break your heart as well. Stephen was great, Wounded Knee restaurant and Blade Runner, that unplesantness with wagon trains and smallpox, all wonderful. I haven't enjoyed an interview so much in a long time.

OK, this isn't about The Daily Show or Colbert Report but see what a local car dealer did with a Sarah Palin look-alike and Toyotas.

Long time no fangirl for me. School sucks =/ Hasn't given me much time to watch the shows either. I've missed the past two weeks pretty much cause I don't feel like staying up late to watch them ='[
But anyway, I bring you Elmopalooza, which was a Sesame Street [episode?] thing Jon was in. I don't know, I haven't had time to download it, but I thought I'd share with all of you :] That site has tons of other old Jon goodies/downloads.

Name: You can call me wolfishinsanity or Loren. =)
Age: 15
Location: US of A, that's all you need to know. =D
How long have you been a fangirl (or boy)?: About a year now. I watched it some a few years ago, but I was really too young to understand the satire or hilarity of the shows.
Truthiness who is your favorite?: In truth, it is Jon. I fall for that man. The hair, the eyes, the personality. I respect and lust after him more than what is healthy.
How often do you watch the show(s): As often as possible.
Favorite moment?: I'm not completely sure, though that one Toss last week made me very, very happy. =D I love going back to pre-Report days, since I hadn't watched it then, and I always find something where I'm like "OMGBESTHINGEVER!" and then five minutes later I repeat it.
Have you ever been lucky enough to be in the audience of either of the show(s)?: No, dammit. ;( Too young, really. Someday, though, I truly, truly hope to be.

Just a warning, in case any of you are gross out by this, but I slash everyone on that show HEAVILY. But I'm sure we all do. ;D

Name: Um, yeah...call me...whatever. Call me C.
Age: 21
Location: Hanover, Pennsylvania
How long have you been a fangirl (or boy)?: I've watched The Daily Show on and off for, I don't know, five years, but I really got into it in January. I started watching The Colbert Report around the same time. You really can't have one without the other, can you?
Truthiness who is your favorite: You want the truthiness? In all truthiness...it was Stephen. But this month I've realized that they really complement each other, and that they're both wonderful in their own right. But then again...ah, Stephen. But just by a hair.
How often do you watch the show(s)?: Monday through Thursday. And reruns.
Favorite moment?: Oh, god, the freakout on the August...or September...somethingth show. Stephen and Jon's fish. They corpsed so bad I could've cried. It was glorious. And then there's the seventeenth show. I'll try to use some restraint here and just say YES. EMPHATICALLY. YESSS. Anyway. Mmm.
Have you ever been lucky enough to be in the audience of either show(s)?: No, but I do have plans to kidnap Jon and Stephen and stuff them in my closet. Along with Anderson Cooper. Haha, 360, baby.
